Description

Version:

  • W (soft)

Description:

Due to their hardness and flexibility, felt points are used when the exact form of geometric shapes has to be maintained. Mounted felt flap wheels are used for pre-polishing and high-gloss polishing on small to medium-sized components.

Feature:

  • RPM, max.: 15000 RPM
  • RPM, optimum, from: 4750 RPM
  • Shape: Cylinders with flaps
  • Version: W (soft)
  • Width, metric: 20 mm
  • Dia. external, metric: 40 mm
  • Dia. shank, metric: 6 mm
  • Length, shank: 40

Advantage:

  • Can be profiled as desired, meaning they can also be used for tools with complex geometries.
  • Precise retention of geometric shapes due to the hardness of these tools.
  • Low thermal load on the workpiece.

Application:

  • Recommendations for use: For the best results, use at a recommended cutting speed of 5-10 m/s. This provides an ideal compromise between stock removal rate, surface quality, thermal load on the workpiece and tool wear. Use diamond polishing pastes and polishing paste bars. When applying a different polishing paste, use a new unused polishing tool. Use the soft type for buffing and processing workpieces with lots of contours. If very fine finishes need to be achieved, the soft and hard versions can be used successively.
  • Applications: Polishing
  • Drive types: Flexible shaft drive; Straight grinder

Material:

  • Materials that can be worked:
    • Aluminium
    • Brass
    • Bronze
    • Cast steel
    • Cobalt-based alloys
    • Copper
    • Fibre-reinforced thermosetting plastics (GRP, CRP)
    • Hardened, heat-treated steels over 1.200 N/mm² (< 38 HRC)
    • Nickel-based alloys (e.g. Inconell and Hastelloy)
    • Stainless steel (INOX)
    • Steel materials with a hardness > 54 HRC
    • Steels up to 1,200 N/mm² (< 38 HRC)
    • Thermoplastics
    • Titanium
    • Titanium alloys
