Description

Version:

Base body of high-quality tool steel, surface and functional faces hardened.

Advantage:

Reduces oscillation and vibration when used with all types of boring bars.

Suitable for:

All popular boring bars.

Note:

To determine the right type of boring bar stabiliser, it is essential to perform a collision check using the Hoffmann e-Tool data from the eShop or via the ToolScout! We recommend a maximum overhang length of 3×D of the types of boring bar used.
Maximum overhang, stabiliser incl. boring bar 6×D.
Boring bar stabiliser with 7×D or shank ⌀ D2 = 25 mm available on request.

Warning:

Intended use
  • For mounting boring bars.
  • Reduces oscillation and vibration during turning work.
  • For best accessibility, use the Mini version. For good accessibility and damping, use the Midi version. For maximum reduction in vibration, use the Maxi version.
  • The clamping diameter of the boring bar stabiliser must match the diameter of the boring bar.
  • The boring bar must be inserted along the entire length L2.
  • Before using the tool, perform collision checking using CAD data: ho7.eu/etool.
  • Mount only boring bars and toolholders that are in technically faultless and operationally reliable condition.
  • Comply with the direction of cutting: (right-hand or left-hand).
  • For work in industrial environments.
  • Use only in an enclosed system with no access from outside.
  • After a collision with other objects, do not use again until a thorough check has been performed.
  • Use only when it is technically in good condition and safe to operate.

Reasonably foreseeable misuse
  • Do not mount any tools or workpieces other than boring bars.
  • Do not mount a cranked or offset boring bar.
  • The overhang length of the boring bar that is inserted must not exceed 3×D.
  • Do not insert a boring bar if the boring bar stabiliser is already mounted on the machine.
