Description:
Scotch® Electrical Semi-Conducting Tape 13 lengthens easily to conform to irregular shapes and retains its conductivity when stretched. It is stable over a wide temperature range and it doesn’t effect the conductivity of cable semi-conducting jackets. This tape is used for high voltage connections and provides cable shield continuation.
Advantage:
- Replaces semi-conducting layer beneath metallic shield in various medium-voltage cable repairs and splices
- Electrically round-outs high-voltage connectors and bonds to insulating materials to minimise electrical stresses
- Withstands temperatures up to 90 °C
- Round-outs bolted connections on insulated bus bars
- Provides shielding for cable splices on solid dielectric insulated power cables
- ASTM Approval and RoHS 2011/65/EU Compliant.
- Not to be used for electrical insulation
Recommendation:
- Conductor smoothing
- Replacement of the semi-conductive layer under the metallic shield for repairs and connections on various high voltage cables
- Unsuitable for ground cables and for electrical isolation
