Description:
Coloured blind rivets - visually appealing with additional corrosion protection.
Blind rivets are also available in coloured versions for the visually appealing connection of coloured components. To ensure maximum durability, the hollow rivets are drum-coated using a two-component epoxy resin-based paint in a stove enamelling process. In addition to the purely visual advantages of being able to join coloured components in an attractive way, the paint layer also offers additional corrosion protection. Aluminium blind rivet parts are best suited for this process. Blind rivets are available in the standard RAL colours. Painted blind rivets in steel and other RAL and special colours are also available on request. Slight colour deviations and colour changes due to environmental influences, e.g. UV radiation, are possible.
Another method of colouring blind rivets and protecting them against corrosion is anodising. Blind rivets are anodised using the direct current sulphuric acid process. The term anodising refers to the electrolytic oxidation of aluminium. The actual anodising is initially colourless. The desired lightfast colour result is then achieved by applying a second layer using metal salts. Although anodising is the more complex process for producing coloured blind rivets, it is also more durable. Anodised blind rivets are also available on request.
The range of coloured blind rivets comprises 16 RAL colours in ten dimensions each. The blind rivets are manufactured using the wet lacquer drum process. The colours are similar to RAL colours.
