Electronic GARANT torque screwdriver HCT accurately records even small torques
12 Feb 2025
A new electronic GARANT torque screwdriver HCT is enabling users to quickly and accurately record even small torques by sending measurement reports to a Hoffmann Group Connected Tools (HCT) app via Bluetooth. HCT apps are available for smartphones and Windows PCs and enable data to be archived on a computer or in quality assurance (CAQ), MES and ERP systems.
The electronic GARANT torque screwdriver HCT is available in three versions with torque ranges of 0.1 to 0.5 Nm, 0.4 to 2 Nm and 0.8 to 5 Nm. Its parameters can be intuitively configured using the typical GARANT menu navigation concept. It is ideal for use over long periods thanks to its low weight of just 294 grammes and battery runtime of eight hours. In addition, the 1.3-inch TFT display with stable viewing angle ensures the user can work effortlessly. The display of information can be rotated in steps of 90° if required, meaning the measurements are always easy to read from any position. A visual signal provided via an LED ring warns the user before the maximum tightening value is exceeded. An acoustic warning and vibrations can also be activated. Further highlights include the classic GARANT design with clear lines, the fact that it is compatible with the GARANT cordless system, and a USB-C port.
Parameters can be configured both on the tool and via the HCT app
The new torque screwdriver can store 1000 measurements together with the time stamp, 100 screw tightening profiles in two different modes and 10 workflows. The parameters can be configured both directly on the tool itself and using the HCT app on a smartphone or Windows PC. The apps send the data to the tools via a bidirectional interface and save the measurement data from the tools together with the serial number, date, unit and target value. From the smartphone, the data can then be exported to a PC in CSV format. From the HCT Windows app, the data can additionally be transferred via MUX50 / DMX16 protocol to a CAQ system or via open protocol to an MES or ERP system. The HCT Windows app also enables executed screw tightening profiles to be monitored on the PC, and employees to be comprehensively guided through their tasks thanks to the worker guidance system.
The electronic GARANT torque screwdriver HCT meets protection class IP40 and is resistant to oils, grease, fuel, brake fluid and Skydrol. A 2-component handle, password protection, calibration reminder and magnetic quick-change adapter for bits round off the list of features. To make the most of everything the HCT function has to offer, the use of the electronic GARANT torque tester HCT is recommended as it enables the torque screwdriver to be easily and conveniently checked (including between calibration intervals) and unblocked again if required.
The new HCT tool is available now in the eShop at www.hoffmann-group.com. Once downloaded from www.hoffmann-group.com, the HCT Windows app can be used in conjunction with the relevant wireless receiver. The free HCT mobile app is available from the App Store and Google Play.
